FAQ

  • A: This is usually caused by insufficient permissions or antivirus blocking. Right-click the installer → Run as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus or add MT5 to the trusted list, and use an English-only installation path.

  • A: Check your network first. Verify the server address (live/demo servers are different). Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, or restart MT5. Some brokers require dedicated IPs — contact your broker for details.

  • A: Close unnecessary indicators and EAs, reduce open charts. Go to Tools → Options → Charts and lower the max bar limit. Disable power-saving mode and close high-memory background apps.

  • A: Make sure the Auto-Trading button is enabled. Check if your account supports EAs and review the EA log for errors. Keep MT5 running and disable Windows sleep/hibernation to avoid disconnection.

  • A: Open MT5 → File → Open Data Folder. Copy MQL5/Indicators, Profiles and Logs. After reinstalling, replace the folders to restore all settings.

  • A: MT5 may be removed from some app stores. Download the official APK from your broker. Ensure your device runs Android 6.0+ and disable strict security restrictions if needed.

  • A: Select the correct server (main/backup). Passwords are case-sensitive. Some brokers use a trading password for mobile, not the login password. Contact your broker to confirm.

  • A: Use stable Wi‑Fi or 5G. Turn off extra indicators and tools. Clear the app cache: Settings → Apps → MT5 → Storage → Clear Cache.

  • A: Go to phone settings → MT5. Disable battery optimization and background restrictions, enable autostart. Turn off system battery saver mode.

  • A: Standard Android MT5 does not support custom indicators. Use a broker-customized version or import via file manager. Most custom EAs/indicators work only on PC.

  • A: This is macOS security. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. Or right-click MT5 and select Open.

  • A: Common on Retina displays. Adjust display scaling, or restart MT5. For advanced fixes, run the launcher via Terminal inside the app package.

  • A: Allow MT5 in macOS Firewall. Verify server address and port. Some brokers have special rules for macOS connections.

  • A: Close extra charts and indicators. Reduce bar count in Tools → Options → Charts. For better performance, run Windows MT5 via Wine or Parallels.

  • A: Open Finder → Go → Go to Folder. Enter:
    ~/Library/Application Support/MetaTrader 5/
    Copy MQL5 and Profiles to back up.

  • A: MT5 is unavailable in some regions. Switch to a supported App Store account or install via broker TestFlight link. Avoid unofficial enterprise apps for security.

  • A: iOS MT5 does not support manual server addition. Enter the full broker server name (e.g., BrokerName-Server) or scan the broker’s QR code to auto-add.

  • A: Enable MT5 notifications in iOS Settings. Turn on notifications inside MT5. Ensure the app is not frozen in the background. Some brokers do not support iOS push alerts.
